How has technology changed your way of learning?
There are many ways you can think of how technology has changed learning, but there also may be a few that you might not know. For instance, technology has changed our way of learning by using an iPad, instead of using pencil and paper. It has changed the way teachers taught way back when vs. how they teach now. Back in the day they were the main source of information, now they kind of “guide on the side”, which means us students have bigger responsibilities since we are using technology.
I mean do you remember doing projects on poster boards? I only remember doing a couple of them throughout my years of school. Technology has played a big role in what the older generations did versus our generation. A good example is Notability. We really don’t have to carry around folders anymore, because in Notability we can create folders. I’m sure you have heard stories of kids passing paper notes back in the day, but now we can use some form of technology to do that. I’m sure you’ve noticed the TVs in the classrooms here at school. There are many, many more ways that technology has changed learning. It is constantly changing, daily. As a student there are some advantages, and disadvantages to some of the ways Knox County uses new technology. Advantages would be I think students have more fun learning with an iPad rather than pencil and paper. Students can be more interactive with technology and other students because we can collaborate easier, also there are many, many apps we can download to help us learn. Some disadvantages would be that people come to school without a charged iPad. Also we sometimes have trouble with the internet connection or trouble with the software updates which really mess things up.
My conclusion would be there are unlimited ways that technology is changing learning. Even outside of school, people are learning without even knowing it. I think it would be awesome if we could learn all of the new ways today, and new ways to come on how technology is changing learning. Stay tuned to learn more about SWAT class.
